1. Introduction

This Payment Policy describes how payments are processed, accepted, authorised, declined, refunded, and managed on the Aussie Card Traders platform. This policy forms an integral part of the Website Terms & Conditions and applies to all marketplace participants, including buyers, sellers, and third‑party payment service providers.

By using the Aussie Card Traders marketplace, you expressly agree to comply with and be bound by the terms of this Payment Policy.


2. Accepted Payment Methods

Aussie Card Traders accepts the following forms of payment:

  1. Credit and Debit Cards (Stripe)
    Supported card networks include Visa, MasterCard, and American Express (as made available through our authorised payment gateways).
  2. PayPal
    Buyers may use PayPal to complete transactions where enabled. PayPal transactions are subject to PayPal’s own user agreement, policies, and dispute resolution processes in addition to this Payment Policy.
  3. Digital Wallets (Stripe)
    Where available, digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay may be accepted at checkout.

All payments must be made in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.


3. Payment Processing & Authorisation

  1. Third‑Party Payment Gateways:
    Payments are processed through authorised third‑party payment gateways. Aussie Card Traders does not directly collect or store sensitive financial information (e.g., full card numbers).
  2. Authorisation:
    At the time of checkout, payment authorisation is sought. This may include pre‑authorisation holds to verify credit validity. Such authorisation does not guarantee completion of the transaction until cleared.
  3. Declined Transactions:
    If a payment is declined by the issuing bank or payment provider, the buyer will be notified and required to provide an alternative payment method.

4. Marketplace Fees

  1. Listing Fees:
    Where applicable, sellers may be charged a fee to list items.
  2. Membership Fees:
    Sellers may be required to pay a recurring membership fee to access certain marketplace features, including but not limited to premium listings, analytics tools, or promotional options. Membership fees are billed according to the plan selected and are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
  3. Transaction/Commission Fees:
    Aussie Card Traders charges a commission or transaction fee on completed sales. These fees are deducted prior to funds being released to sellers.
  4. Payment Processing Fees:
    Payment providers may levy additional processing fees. These fees are separate from marketplace fees and will be clearly disclosed at the point of checkout.
  5. GST:
    All fees and charges are exclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST). We do not charge GST.

5. Payment Settlement & Disbursement

  1. Settlement to Sellers:
    Once a buyer’s payment has cleared and any applicable transaction hold periods have passed, funds will be remitted to sellers according to the payout schedule defined by Aussie Card Traders.
  2. Verification Requirements:
    Sellers are required to complete identity verification before payments are released.
  3. Disbursement Methods:
    Funds may be disbursed to sellers via:
    • Electronic transfer through supported payment processors, including PayID/Osko payments
    • PayPal (where enabled and linked to the seller’s account)
    • Stripe (where enabled and linked to the seller’s account)
  4. Timing:
    Payout timing is subject to verification, compliance checks, and any dispute or chargeback hold periods.

6. Refunds, Returns & Chargebacks

  1. Refunds:
    • Refunds to buyers are processed in accordance with the Aussie Card Traders Returns & Refund Policy.
    • Refunds may be issued by reversing the original payment or via alternative methods at our discretion.
  2. Chargebacks:
    • Buyers may initiate chargebacks through their card issuer. Aussie Card Traders will cooperate with issuing banks to respond to disputes.
    • Sellers may be liable for chargeback amounts, associated fees, and potential penalties if chargebacks are not resolved in the marketplace’s favour.
  3. Fees on Refunds/Chargebacks:
    Marketplace and processing fees may not be refundable, subject to the terms of the payment provider.

7. Payment Security & Data Protection

  1. Security Standards:
    All payment processing complies with industry security standards (e.g., PCI DSS) to protect financial data.
  2. Data Handling:
    Aussie Card Traders does not store sensitive payment card information. Any personal information collected complies with the Aussie Card Traders Privacy Policy.
  3. Fraud Monitoring:
    Transactions are monitored for potential fraud. Suspicious activity may result in temporary holds, transaction cancellation, or account suspension.

8. Taxes

  1. Buyers:
    Buyers are responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, and import fees where required by law.
  2. Sellers:
    Sellers are responsible for reporting and remitting their own tax obligations, including GST, income tax, and other applicable levies if applicable.

9. Dispute Handling

  1. Payment Disputes:
    For payment‑related disputes, users should first contact Aussie Card Traders Customer Support with relevant transaction details.
  2. Resolution Process:
    Aussie Card Traders will investigate and attempt to resolve disputes in a timely and fair manner. Final decisions may be influenced by payment provider policies and applicable law.
  3. Any disputes or complaints are to be registered with Aussie Card Traders on their Report an Issue page. All other methods will be ignored.

10. Amendments to This Payment Policy

Aussie Card Traders reserves the right to modify this Payment Policy at any time. Users will be notified of material changes via the website or email where appropriate. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
